“As we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don’t know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones.” — Donald Rumsfeld 1
I was recently sent the following question:
“Geoff – a gazillion books come out every year about organisational topics such as strategy, culture, leadership, etc. The authors include retired executives, business school academics, management consultants, coaches, and other so-called “thought leaders”. Added to that, in recent years there’s also been an explosion of podcasts on these topics. And yet, despite all of these words, not much has changed in the world of organisations. What’s your take on why there’s so much talk and hardly any walk? And what can we do about it?
The 14-minute Future-Fit Culture Frequently Asked Questions video below explores the above question.
